
Students can then add text of their choice, pictures, and even video. Google Presentations is similar to PowerPoint, and offers several pre-made templates to choose from. However, if PowerPoint is not an option, or if you also want your students to work on an assignment at home without the worry of a flash drive, Google Presentations could be or interest to a music classroom. It offers a wide variety of options and is user-friendly. Something I've used quite a bit in the classroom is PowerPoint. Assessing musical performances and products is important for the student, and important for teachers like myself who need student artifacts in lieu of state testing. Students are also able to use the internet and online resources to learn topics of their own choice. This makes it easy for the teacher to see which questions were most difficult and can help the teacher reflect on what area of content may need to be gone over again. The answers are logged, tallied, and presented in neat diagrams.

In my opinion, this makes an online quiz no different than a paper-pencil quiz EXCEPT for the statistic analysis performed by Google. Instead, the answers are logged and the teacher needs to "view the responses". Students can't receive immediate feedback after submitting their responses-which would be ideal. The only downside to this assessment was that it isn't necessarily meant to be a fully-functional quiz. Assessments can also be administered using Google Forms.

For example, having students post an assignment on Google Docs and making its privacy settings open to the teacher can allow them to receive feedback which is still on the internet, but private as well.

Considering that feedback should be timely and assessments should be meaningful and frequent, we can use websites or other forms of media to provide these necessities. The first way we can use technology for productivity is for assessment principles.
